Job Description

Head of Reward

Location: Hybrid / Flexible (1–2 days/week on-site in Leicestershire)

Salary: £90,000 - £100,000 + Company Car + Bonus + Benefits

We are partnering with a global, market-leading logistics and supply chain business operating across complex UK and international operations. The UK organisation employs above 5000 permanent staff across the UK, Ireland, and Nordics, complemented by a substantial operational workforce.

As the business enters its next phase of organisational evolution, an exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head of Reward to lead the Reward agenda. This key leadership role offers high visibility across executive stakeholders, as well as clear future progression pathways if desired.

As Head of Reward, you will take ownership of the full Compensation & Benefits function, providing strategic and operational guidance to the HR Leadership Team and global C&B stakeholders. Managing a dedicated team, you will oversee reward governance, annual pay reviews, trade union negotiation benchmarking, benefits renewals, and executive reward frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reward Leadership & Strategy: Lead all compensation, salary structures, rate ranges, pensions, and benefits renewals (including life insurance and broker management).

  • Stakeholder & Matrix Management: Navigate a structured corporate matrix, aligning UK reward initiatives with regional, European, and global C&B governance.

  • Operational Alignment: Partner with senior HR Heads and operational leaders across a large blue-collar and unionised workforce, supporting annual pay negotiations and salary benchmarking.

  • Governance & Processes: Ensure robust job evaluation frameworks, reward governance, and corporate compliance across all business units.

  • Team Leadership: Direct, mentor, and manage a team comprising two Reward Advisors and a Reward Administrator.

Ideal Candidate:

We are seeking a senior Compensation & Benefits specialist accustomed to operating in complex, corporate matrix, fast paced environments.

  • Proven Reward Expertise: Deep technical knowledge across salary benchmarking, reward strategy, pensions, broker renewals, and job evaluation.

  • Matrix Experience: Experience within European or global matrix structures, working alongside regional/corporate C&B stakeholders.

  • Operational Understanding: Familiarity with large-scale operational or blue-collar employee environments; experience working alongside recognised trade unions is highly advantageous.

  • Governance & Influence: High political awareness—able to work comfortably within established corporate rules while possessing the credibility to challenge, influence, and drive change.

  • Location: Commutable distance to the Leicestershire, for flexible hybrid working (1–2 days per week on-site).

If the above is aligned to your experience and desired next step, we look forward to reviewing your CV / Application
